The character of our Crémants is born here

Terroirs and plots
of the Maison Vitteaut-Alberti

Since 1977, Maison Vitteaut-Alberti has dedicated its vineyards to the production of Crémant de Bourgogne. Spread across a rich diversity of Burgundian terroirs, the vineyards give each cuvée its distinctive character, combining finesse, freshness and elegance.

The vineyard is cultivated according to sustainable farming principles, with careful attention paid to reducing inputs and limiting their impact on the environment.

Driven by a constant desire to improve, Maison Vitteaut-Alberti continually adapts its practices and vineyard management, making thoughtful choices for each plot while preserving the quality and character of its terroirs for the future.

A palette of unique terroirs

Côte de Beaune and Hautes-Côtes de Beaune (1977)

The hills of the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune rise to 400 m in altitude, facing the rising sun.

  • Grape varieties grown: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Aligoté.

Soils: clay, marl and limestone, bringing :

  • Chardonnay: minerality and finesse
  • Pinot Noir: elegance and fruitiness
  • Aligoté: freshness and lightness

Côte Chalonnaise (1986)

20 kms away from Beaune, in the continuation of the Côte d’Or, in the Côte Chalonnaise, our vines lie between the villages of Rully and Mercurey.

Dominant grape varieties: Chardonnay and Aligoté.

Clay-limestone soils: power and complexity for Chardonnay.

Expansion and replanting (2009–2019)

From 2009 we entered a phase of replanting and soil work, in order to renew plots that had become too old. This work took 10 years and was completed in 2019.

Objective: to maintain grape quality and ensure the optimal longevity of the vines.

Diversification (2015)

Located in Sampigny-lès-Maranges, at the crossroads of the Côte-d’Or and Saône-et-Loire, our vineyard is complemented by 3 hectares of Pinot Noir.

With its south-eastern exposure and limestone soils, this vineyard produces grapes with a beautifully fresh and generous aromatic profile.

Today: a 22-hectare vineyard dedicated to Crémant de Bourgogne

Blending the base wines is a key stage in shaping the quality and character of a sparkling wine. The diversity offered by the Maison’s own vineyards, together with grapes sourced from long-standing winegrower partners, provides a rich selection of base wines for blending.

This diversity makes it possible to create balanced blends that give Vitteaut-Alberti Crémants de Bourgogne their distinctive finesse, elegance and personality.
